About the project

Touzet Studio is a Miami-based architecture and design practice founded by Carlos Prio-Touzet and Jacqueline González Touzet. Its work spans residential, hospitality, retail, adaptive reuse, interiors and urban projects, with a particular focus on climate-responsive architecture and the cultural landscape of South Florida.

A website they could trust again

The problem wasn’t simply that the old website looked dated.

Previous website projects had left the principals too involved in managing the process and the technology behind it. The new site needed to do the opposite: give the studio confidence that its work could be presented properly without Carlos and Jacqueline having to become website managers.

That was an unusually high bar for a design project. Touzet Studio’s own work is defined by proportion, materials, light and detail. A website representing that work couldn’t feel generic, but it also couldn’t compete with the architecture it was there to present.

Don’t compete with the photography

I joined the early visual exploration with the Fri3nds team under Jose Caballer’s creative direction, testing several approaches with Carlos and Jacqueline.

The direction they responded to was modern, editorial and restrained.

Once that was established, I stepped in as Lead Designer and developed the system around one simple principle: don’t compete with the photography.

The site became a spacious, typography-led framework built around a disciplined grid, restrained interface and deliberate pacing. Rather than making every section fight for attention, the layouts create room for the work itself: moments to read, moments to pause and long image sequences where material, light and proportion can do the talking.

Designing the system, not just the pages

The website also needed to work long after launch.

I created a reusable Figma system around project cards, editorial modules, navigation patterns, spacing rules and flexible page structures. Different projects could demand very different presentations without the site slowly losing its visual discipline.

Fri3nds then translated that system into Webflow and migrated years of existing content from WordPress into a new CMS structure the internal team could manage without technical expertise.

The result wasn’t a fixed portfolio designed for one moment in time. It was a framework Touzet Studio could continue using for new projects, press, events and editorial stories while keeping the experience coherent.

The result

The redesign gave Touzet Studio something the old site had failed to become: a platform the team could keep using.

Since launch, the studio has continued publishing new projects, press, events and original editorial content through the site. In 2026, that included long-form writing and support for initiatives such as its Entre Las Palmas event series.

That continued use is strong evidence that the system is doing what it was designed to do. The site can absorb new kinds of content without losing its visual discipline, while giving the studio a digital presence that can evolve alongside the practice.

Touzet Studio’s work has continued earning new press, but just as importantly, the website itself has moved from something the principals found frustrating to something they actively value and want to build on.
